MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – An organization through Michigan State University is bringing its expertise to the UP, getting communities throughout the state closer together.
MSU Extension is the community outreach office of the University, and next Monday, December 11th, at the Northern Michigan University Center, an MSU Extension Session will be held. These listening sessions are for members of the public to come and discuss what is working in their communities and what could be improved.
The University noted that holding sessions like this across the state is important for community growth because it gives them a grasp of all communities, even those north of the bridge. “Each community has its personality and if they don’t come up here and hear what is going on exactly in each one of those communities then they’re not going to be as relevant as they want to be and we wanna make sure each one of our community members is served by us and the best ways we can do that,” said MSU District Director Erin Daines.
The Monday session will run from 4-6:30 PM in the upstairs ballroom.
