MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The holiday spirit is on its way with the cold weather and it’s bringing some familiar faces with it as well. On Monday, November 20th, the Marquette County Tree Lighting Ceremony along with an appearance from Santa Claus was igniting the Christmas spirit. Community members were enjoying hot chocolate, food stands, and even live music by the Studio Dance Arts.
“We loved it, we have a four-year-old and a two-year-old who had an absolute blast definitely a Christmas family we’ve decorated, this was our first year and it was a blast and I recommend that everyone comes. They were very happy to see him get arrested,” Kim St. Onge.
Downtown Marquette’s Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony will be taking place on Dec 8th, so for kids who didn’t get a chance to give Santa their letter, the post office will be taking letters then as well.
