MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Veterans day is coming up on Saturday, November 11th, but one home around Marquette considers everyday to be Veterans Day. Michigan Veterans Home D.J. Jacobetti is home and a workplace to countless UP veterans.
Starting Saturday at 11 A.M., D.J. Jacobetti will be hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony sponsored by the Amvets Post 122
A formal Posting of the Colors with the Northern Michigan University ROTC, a performance of the National Anthem and even a keynote speaker from an Amvets U.S. Army Veteran. “We’re able to not only do a veterans day but a veterans week and just make every single day as special as possible for the individuals that served us and that are our heros,” commented D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Volunteer Coordinator Sarah Johnson.

24 Air Force Veterans, 37 Army Veterans, 13 Marine Veterans and 23 Navy Veterans. This with 4 World War II Veterans, 13 Korean War Veterans, 71 Vietnam Veterans, 1 Gulf War Veterans and 11 from other eras.
