MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – Bay Cliff Health Camp is using the winter months to recruit for next year’s summer camp.
Bay Cliff is an organization based in Big Bay that provides annual therapy summer camp for children with disabilities.
Along with normal summer camp activities like arts and crafts and outdoor sports, campers will also receive physical and/or occupational therapy to help them in their daily lives.
Although it has winter programs, Bay Cliff organizers also use the winter months to recruit seasonal workers like Counsellers and Instructors for the summer camp.
Today, they were recruiting and showcasing their services at Northern Michigan University.
Bay Cliff’s Program and Outreach Director Ryan Gooch, said the program is a life changing experience for both the campers and the staff.
“Not only do you get to help them, but I would say that the kids also help you as well,” said Gooch, “I would say that those kids changed me as much as I hopefully changed the lives of those kiddos. Like you learn so much about yourself working a summer at Bay Cliff.”
Camp organizers say they are already planning next year’s program.
