MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – This weekend, businesses in Manistique’s west side are coming together for an autumn tradition.
Saturday, September 30 is the fifth annual Westside Flannel Festival. Local shop owners, crafters, and other vendors will line Deer Street for an afternoon of fun.
Attendees can also enjoy food, live music, sack races, a pie-eating contest, pumpkin decorating, and activities for kids.
According to Westside Tobacco & More owner Andrew Larkins, Westside Flannel Festival also highlights the many businesses located outside of Manistique’s downtown.
“The businesses on this side of town, it’s a way for us to give back to the community, so we pretty much pay for all the stuff that goes on here,” Larkins said. “Really, we get people from both sides, so I think it’s for Manistique in general. It’s just a chance for the community to get out and enjoy each other.”
Westside Flannel Fest is free to the public. Events kick off at 11 a.m. and continue until 6 p.m. Click here for more information.
