ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Thursday evening, members of a nonprofit dedicated to supporting wildlife in Delta County gathered in Escanaba.
Wildlife Unlimited hosted its 42nd annual banquet. The event was held inside the Ruth Butler Building at the U.P. State Fairgrounds.
Wildlife Unlimited works to sustain the area’s wildlife, from butterflies and fish to deer and bears.
At the banquet, members participated in raffles, silent auctions, and other activities to raise funds for the organization. The money will go toward conservation, food plots, animal tagging, and other outdoor projects.
“You’re supporting our natural habitat in our own county,” said Terence Wanic, president of Wildlife Unlimited of Delta County. “It helps everyone, whether you’re a youth or an adult. If you’re out in the woods or doing any kind of activity involving guns or archery or anything of that sort, we support you.”
According to Wanic, Wildlife Unlimited currently has 500 members and is looking for new board members. Anyone interested in becoming a member can contact Wildlife Unlimited on Facebook.
