MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Graci Gallery in Marquette is welcoming a new monthly artist for August. Michael Letts is a painter, and a professor in The School of Art and Design at NMU.
This month, Letts is displaying a collection he’s calling his Ancient Coast Series. Letts is the 4th artist Graci Gallery has hosted since it moved to its new location on Third Street.
Lauren Call, a Manager at the gallery, said the new space has allowed them and their guest artists to show off even more of their art.
“What we’re really trying to do here is create a open space and a community to enjoy art and be surrounded by it.” Call said. “To be able to show off a little bit of what’s happening in the community, and also outside of the community.”
Graci Gallery will be hosting a reception for Letts that will be open to the public this Friday from 6pm until 9pm. Michael Letts’ work will be on display in the gallery until the beginning of September.
