As a senior quarterback at Gwinn High School in 1999, Dan Mettlach led the Modeltowners to their deepest playoff run in school history to the state semifinals. He then signed on to play quarterback at Michigan Tech where he became an All-American, a two time All-GLIAC selection, and was 2004 GLIAC Player of the Year.
Mettlach has spent the last five seasons as Tech’s offensive coordinator and assistant head coach. Then in November, he was hired as the program’s 17th head coach, and will lead the program that holds a special place in his heart.
Michigan Tech kicks off camp on August 11th as they gear up for their season opener at Kearly Stadium September 9th when they host Hillsdale. For the full interview with Coach Mettlach, click here.
