ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – Ishpeming’s Italian Fest is back at for their 124th year of serving up good food, fun, and music.
Italian Fest will be kicked off at noon with the Sounds Of Time playing live, later in the day Diamante a familiar Italian Fest favorite will start playing at 5p.m. and go till 7p.m.
Italian Fest is filled with good food, including some featured classics from St. Rocco’s, cudighi and the Italian meatball dinner.
“We will be starting making the meatballs Thursday,” says Jim Bertucci, president of St. Rocco’s Association. “And we make about 1,500 meatballs, so we’ll have quite a few dinners to prepare.”
These crowd favorites sell out fast, so it’s recommended to get there early, and get your share. Once St. Rocco’s sells out of their food, different vendors will fill in with other classic Italian favorites.
“You should come down and enjoy the day,” says Bertucci. “It’s a relaxing family oriented picnic, there’s lot’s to do for the kids to keep them busy, and there’s lots to do for the adults.”
Games will be available for both kids and adults, including, sack races, egg toss, sawdust pile, a blow up slide, and more adult games like bingo, raffles and other games of chance.
Italian Fest is completely open to the public and will begin at noon, Saturday the 29th, at the Al Quaal Recreation Area.
