IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – On July 23rd, 2023 at around 11:00 AM the Iron Mountain Police were dispatched to a local fast-food restaurant in reference to a male subject who got upset with the employees and was seen in the parking lot of the restaurant, brandishing a handgun. The male subject then left the parking lot of the fast-food restaurant in his vehicle.
A short time later the suspect’s vehicle was located in a parking lot of a different restaurant. Officers entered the restaurant through a rear service door and located the subject taking him into custody without incident. IMPD Officers were assisted on the scene by the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department and the Kingsford Public Safety Department.
As part of the investigation, numerous “Airsoft” type weapons were recovered. The one used in this incident had the orange tip removed.
A 59-year-old Colorado man was processed at the Dickinson County Correctional Center, released on a $5,000.00 Cash/Surety Bond, and given an arraignment date of August 2nd at 8 AM.
