GWINN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Independence Day celebrations in Gwinn were hosted by the Forsyth Township Fire Department. This mornings parade was followed with food, drinks, and games that were open to the community in Peter Nordeen Park. The Department also presented a martial arts demonstration and held a bean bag toss tournament.
Todays events follow up the end of the Gwinn Lions Club’s ‘Fun Daze’. Captain Kyle Fowler with The Forsyth Fire Department says it’s been great seeing the community out enjoying the warm weather and summer time events.
“It’s a very busy time of the year, we have a lot of people who come back to our small town.” Captain Fowler says, “I love seeing the public come out and enjoy the things that we get to do to put on for them.”
The department says its been great working with the local Police Department to put on the parade and and the rest of the weekends celebrations.
