MENOMINEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Menominee Police Department has released information about an incident that took place at approximately 2:20 on the afternoon of June 26, while trying to apprehend an individual wanted for firearms violations at the Hay Creek Townhomes.
During the course of an investigation, Menominee Police officers located the 25-year-old man at the townhomes. Upon contact, he fled into the residence and barricaded himself in with an 11-month-old child.
Menominee Police officer secured a perimeter around the area to ensure the safety and containment of the scene.
The Marinette County Response Team was requested, as well as the deployment of the BEARCAT armored vehicle.
Following a conversation with the subject, officers were able to successfully apprehend him, and he’s been charged with several offenses including felon in possession of a firearm, resisting arrest, possession of a stolen firearm, and bond violation.
He remains in custody of the Menominee County Jail.
