HANCOCK, Mich. (WZMQ) – Dial Help, Copper County Senior Meals, and The Portage Health Foundation have combined to become the Copper Shores Community Health Foundation.
In an email newsletter earlier this morning The Foundation announced the merger, stating “With a passionate team dedicated to the wellbeing of community members, we can move our community forward in more ways than ever before.”
Copper Shores Marketing and Community Director, Michael Babcock, says the new foundation allows the services to have better access to resources and to work together to better fit the needs of the community.
“The group of us are going to be able to come together and get things out of the way so that we are more efficient” Babcock says, “and more prepared to find different service gaps to see where the places are that people are falling through the cracks and not just find those opportunities but do something about it.”
The three non-profits will be combining the mental health, meal and food access, and community grant resources into the new foundation. Babcock says they will continue to offer the same programs, services, and opportunities as before as they work to identify and fill existing service gaps within the community.
The Copper Shores Community Director says changes will continue as the foundation continues to transition, but for now, any contact information for previous services and locations will stay the same.
