GWINN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Traffic through Gwinn will be rerouted for an ongoing road construction project beginning Monday, June 5.
MDOT started work on May 8 on a $4.4 million project to rebuild 0.7 miles of M-35. Work includes asphalt rebuilding; concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalk ramp installation; storm sewer and drainage repairs, bridge approach repairs; water main and sanitary sewer repairs; and pavement markings.
M-35 traffic will be detoured onto Southgate Dr. and M-553, then back to M-35. The detour is expected to go through mid-October.
MDOT says one lane of eastbound (southbound) traffic will be maintained on M-35 for local businesses.
The project is expected to be completed October 15.
