MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Jacobetti Veterans home hosted a celebration today to honor residents who served in the military.
The celebration included live music, prayers, and a ceremony to remember fallen service members.
According to staff members at the veterans home the ceremony was a moving experience for them as well as the residents.
“It was pretty moving we had a lot of guys during the national anthem saluting, some of them can not stand but they were sitting in their chairs and saluting, to watch them have their moment of being proud was incredible,” remarked Kelly Byzeck a staff member at the Jacobetti home for veterans.
According to Byzeck the ceremony was the best way the staff members felt they could honor the sacrifices made by the residents of the home.
