MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Mothers, grandmothers, and great grandmothers were celebrated today at the Brookridge Heights assisted living center in Marquette.
A high tea party was held for residents of the facility, to commemorate mothers day. Those in attendance were able to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.
According to employees of Brookridge Heights, gatherings like this are very beneficial to the residents.
“Mothers day is always a really important holiday to celebrate, our people here are not only mothers, but their grandmothers and great grandmothers, and sometimes it gets lost in the mix, it’s important to come together and remember what’s important,” remarked Jamie Weeder, the director of resident experience at Brookridge Heights.
Staff say events similar to the tea party are held throughout the year to keep residents active.
