ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Two Escanaba healthcare facilities are teaming up to expand cardiovascular care in Delta County.
OSF Hospital & Medical Group and Bellin Health are partnering to open an advanced cardiology clinic. OSF Cardiovascular Care with Bellin Health will be located in the OSF Medical Office Building.
The clinic is scheduled to open in August. It will be open to patients five days a week.
Both OSF and Bellin administrators say they are looking forward to increasing the availability of heart health services in Delta County.
“We’re very thrilled to be a part of this partnership as partnerships are imperative in order to offer specialty services, especially in rural facilities like ours,” said OSF Hospital & Medical Group President Kelly Jefferson. “We saw it as a win for our community and for the U.P. in general.”
“We are proud to team up with a trusted local health care provider in OSF, and to provide more care closer to home for the patients we serve in this area,” Bellin Health Regional President Chris Woleske said. “We truly are stronger together.”
In early 2024, OSF will also open a cardiac catheterization lab at the hospital, led by the Bellin cardiovascular team. The lab will feature state-of-the-art imaging technology, allowing healthcare providers to look inside a patient’s heart vessels to look for blood flow issues or blockages. This service gives providers
information they can use to diagnose and treat problems in the arteries, often without the need for patients to undergo surgery.
“There is currently only one cardiac cath lab in the Upper Peninsula, so that will expand capabilities and give greater access and options for patients,” said Jefferson.
Updates will be provided as construction progresses. For more information on cardiovascular care available in Escanaba, call (800) 472-3242.
