GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Friday, a Gladstone High School senior signed a letter of intent to study music at a Tennessee university.
Cameron Lee will attend Trevecca Nazarene Univerisity in Nashville this fall. Lee says he first fell in love with music playing trombone in seventh grade band. Now, he plays multiple instruments and writes his own songs.
Lee is interested in a career in both country and instrumental music.
“I’m proud of my accomplishments,” he said. “I’m really happy that I can go to college for what I really want to do. Nashville is really the center of country music, so it’s the perfect spot for me. I’m just really happy and thankful for everyone that’s helped me along the way.”
Lee recently performed an original song titled “I Made It to Nashville.” He says the lyrics describe his journey of following and achieving his dreams.
“It’s really a personal song for me,” said Lee. “It marked a big point in my life because I went to Nashville this summer for vacation and I was like, ‘This is where I belong.'”
