SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Update at 1:29 PM on 04/04/23: The four victims from the fatal fire on March 14th, 2023, have been positively identified. The adult victim is Alicia Adzima, a 31-year-old female, and her three children: Ella and Eva Clossick, twin 4- year-old females, and Emery Adzima, a 1-year-old male. Next of kin have been notified.
The investigation has determined this fire was a Homicide-Suicide; Alicia Adzima intentionally caused the fire with the intent to cause the deaths of her and her children. Outside of this determination, the investigation is still open and no further information is being released at this time.
The Sault Ste. Mare Fire and Police Departments have been assisted by: Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office & Victims Services Unit, Michigan State Police, MSP-Fire Investigation Unit, MSP Crime Lab- Marquette, MSP Crime Lab-Grand Rapids, and Chippewa County Central Dispatch.

Update at 12:16 PM 03/15/23: Four victims were recovered from a fatal structure fire that occurred in Sault Ste. Marie on Tuesday morning.
Upon arrival at the scene, the home was fully involved with fire and smoke. The fire was controlled quickly and efforts to search the structure began.
One adult approximately 31 years old, and 3 children believed to range in age from 4 years old to 1 year old. The names of the victims are not being released at this time as the investigation continues, and to protect the privacy of those involved. The names will be released later after the confirmation of identity and notifications to family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and there is no confirmed origin or cause of the fire at this time. Results of a test conducted with the fire investigation are still pending.

At approximately 7:37 AM on March 14th, Sault Ste. Marie Fire and Police Departments responded to a house fire at 3607 Shallows Beach Ave.
This fire was fatal, the number of victims lost in the fire is unknown at this time. The fire is still under investigation.
