MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Festival of the Sled Dog saw a large crowd this evening with hot chocolates and the sled dogs making an appearance. Sledding down Third St. was also a hot topic tonight. “This is our first year and I think so far this is probably my favorite”, said Festival goer Cole Smith.
For some in the crowd, it was their first time in the Upper Peninsula. “I’ve never seen snow like this, ever…y’all get down here”, said one group from Huston, Texas.
Starting at the corner of Washington and Third Street, the crowds were filled with energy.
“Every day I’ve driven down here and stopped right there we got so many people here kids coming down on sleds doesn’t get much better than this”, said Jason and Everly Kittleson.
