SANDS TOWNSHIP, Mich (WZMQ) – On Saturday the 18th, the Hiawathaland Snowmobile Club Poker Run will be taking place.
The run’s registration opens at 9 am and the ride begins at 10 am, making stops at the crossroads, UP North Lodge, and many more for the community to enjoy. Organizers have been receiving donations throughout the week and are still expecting more through Saturday morning.
“The biggest part of this well it’s to make money overall for the program, but when you interact with some of these students there are things they do the things they say there’s just some you don’t forget some of it they’re just great people you know and they’re happy and they’re working their way through life to be able to be on their own”
All the donations from the run will go to Marquette-Alger RESA, to benefit students 18-26 years old with disabilities. After the run concludes at 4 pm, riders can bring their stamped cards to the clubhouse and enter their cards in for some prizes. Food, drinks, and good company at the HiawathaLand Snowmobile club.
