MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Right now, Gift of Life Michigan is holding its campus challenge between 15 different colleges and universities across the state. NMU Student Nursing Association accepts this challenge and will receive points for every registered donor and for holding events in efforts to accelerate this initiative.
According to nmu’s president of the association, up to 8 lives can be saved with organ donation, and donating tissue can enhance over 75 lives.
Ally Anderson President, Student Nursing Association “when you die, you are not going to take your organs, right, so by donating your organs you are essentially giving your life on and letting someone live through you, in a way”
Anderson says there are over 100 thousand people on the waiting list nationally and 2500 in our state alone. To find more about this initiative, please go to www.golm.org/go/nmu.
