ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) — A man is dead after a pickup truck blew a tire and hit his vehicle Sunday afternoon, according to the Delta County Sheriff’s Office.
It was reported on U.S. 2 in Bayview around 12:34 p.m.
A pickup – driven by an 81-year-old Cornell man – appeared to have blown a tire, causing him to cross the media and hit an oncoming pickup truck, deputies said.
The other driver – identified as Michael Englund, 55, of Escanaba – was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
The 81-year-old man was taken by medical helicopter to UPHS Marquette.
Deputies said the crash remains under investigation.
