MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – An axe-throwing business in Marquette Township is showing its support for our nation’s heroes this Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 11.
Timber Yeti Axe is celebrating U-P Veterans this with a fundraiser for the U.P. Honor Flight. All Veterans are invited to throw for free, and all proceeds will go the U.P. Honor Flight. Additionally, every Veteran who attends the event will be entered into a drawing for door prizes.The owner, Avery Smith, said he wants to give back to the men and women who have served our country.
“Our country looks at you as a hero and we want you to know that. What you have given in your volunteering service to our country does not go in vain,” said Smith.
The event runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Timber Yeti Axe, located in the Westwood Mall. Although Veterans Day is observed for one day, the business has a designated U.P. Honor Flight donation box located at the register at all times.
