GWINN, Mich. (WZMQ) – Management at Sawyer International Airport is hoping a rebrand of the aging facility will help establish a base for future expansion. Sawyer International Airport is in the process of rebranding, and management wants to hear from you.
Management at Sawyer International Airport is hoping a rebrand of the aging facility will help establish a base for future expansion. Airport manager Megan Murray says the goal behind the online consumer survey is for the expansion process to be driven by those who travel through Sawyer.
Megan Murray, “The rebranding effort is to have a more modern look for the airport and its marketing and then to help facilitate that future expansion.”
Murray says the 80-thousand-dollar rebranding project will encompass the natural beauty and history of the U.P. and give the facility a facelift. She says results from the consumer survey will allow the designers to create a space that is comfortable for travelers, while also meeting TSA standards.
Murray, “It would benefit our travelers by being we would more understanding what they need at the airport and being able to better serve them.”
Murray says questions in the survey were taken from other similar surveys used at airports around the country.
Murray, “We are able to better serve the community by understanding what they need.”
While adding more flights and airlines is a future goal for the airport, Murray says there isn’t a solution for that at this point. She says the rebranding stage is slated for 2023 with expansion to follow in years to come.
