The Pual Blewett Legacy funds were established in 2010 with the community foundation of Marquette County. These funds help support the multiple non-profits in the UP. CEO of the Community Foundation here in Marquette says Paul Blewett’s history is really tied to this community, as he gave to his community by teaching mathematics at Bark River-Harris High School.
“Paul Blewett was a teacher and so some of the funding went to Ishpeming high school, some of it went to other scholarships, the education you know was a huge part of his life and he wanted to see his legacy support education”
Paul selected these agencies in hope of continuing his giving efforts. WNMU-FMs’ Public Radio 90 is one of the big beneficiaries of the legacy funds. Based on information from their website, they plan to delegate these dollars towards the production of local programs like The Shuffle with Kurt Hauswirth.
