Marquette, Mich. (WZMQ)- The Annual Stick it to Cancer Hockey Tournament wrapped up yesterday at Lakeview Arena.
The tournament benefits Cancer Care of Marquette County, an organization that helps Upper Peninsula Residents suffering from Cancer and other life threatening diseases.
Along side the organization the tournament directly helps residents or Marquette Suffering from life threatening illness’s. The funds provided by the organization are vital to families fighting Cancer or any other life threatening disease.
Devon Olson, A spectator at the tournament , was personally helped by the helped financially by the tournament had a son who played goalie over the weekend. Olson said “Cancer treatment is not a cheap thing to have to deal with and a lot of things to think about, and its great this organization helps so many people when they need the help.”
This year the tournament raised over $12,000, money which will be given right back to the local community.
Planning for next years tournament has already begun and organizers are hoping to continue the tradition of growing each year.
