MARQUETTE – The Marquette Beacon House provides a place to stay for patients and families getting extended treatment, as well as providing them with necessities during the length of their stay, a service that has helped many families get through the ordeal of extended treatment at the local hospital.
On September 4th, from 12 to 3 in the afternoon, the Beacon House will be hosting a fundraiser at Blackrocks Brewery to raise funds for the house. The event, a reverse raffle, will have supporters buy tickets, priced at $100 each, to enter the raffle. 250 tickets will be available, and as of August 31st, 33 tickets remain to be sold. At the event, tickets will be drawn not to win, but to be eliminated from the prize, until only one ticket is left in the pot. That grand prize will total $5,000 dollars, although secondary prizes will also be up for grabs. Each ticket also comes with tokens for drinks at the brewery, and food from local trucks Burger Bus & Da Pretzel Guys.
