An Ironwood man has been appointed to a national position with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Ronald Jacobson will serve a three-year term with FEMA’s technical mapping advisory council where he will work on the national flood mapping program.
Jacobson has nearly 40 years of experience as a land surveyor and 15 years experience in flood plain mapping.
The A.D. Johnson High School and Michigan Tech graduate is currently the survey manager for Coleman Engineering Company.
Jacobson will be the only land surveyor on the 16 member national council.
