For those driving along U.S. 41 near Enbridge Energy’s Rapid City Station Monday, it was quite a scene.
More than a dozen military vehicles and 125 soldiers were stationed near the highway, but it was all an exercise.
The 46th Military Police Company of Owasso is part of the Michigan Quick Reaction Force. This was part of a drill, so the soldiers can be ready to respond within 8 hours to an emergency.
Members of the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management assisted on scene.
We’re told the state is conducting tests and drills of other departments in other parts of the Upper Peninsula throughout the week.
