SKANDIA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Skandia Lions Club will again be hosting Skandia’s Community Day this Saturday, July 20.
The festival in its 43rd year includes a parade, games for children and adults, food vendors, bounce houses, trophies for the best parade float, and a raffle that helps support the festivities.
The 11 a.m. parade will begin at Maple Lane Sports and proceed down Kreiger Drive to the community center, where most of the activities will be held. Organizer Ron Stenfors says the celebration rivals other festivals in the area.
“Well, we start of at 11 o’clock Saturday morning, we start out with a parade, and I’ve been told by several observers that our parade is better than Marquette’s parade. We have a good parade,” said Stenfors.
Anyone wishing to participate in the parade should arrive by 10 a.m. For more information, please visit the Skandia Lions Club Facebook page.
