ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A drive-through coffee shop in Escanaba is expanding its reach.
Last week, Jo to Go opened a second location at 2401 Danforth Road. According to co-owner Brooke Gartland, the business has outgrown its original location on North Lincoln Road.
“There’s only so many places you can put cars and people and product,” she said. “Over the years, we joked about a second location, but last year finally pushed us where we needed to do so.”
The new site has opened at an opportune time. With MDOT planning an extensive reconstruction project on North Lincoln Road beginning next spring, the Danforth Road location will give patrons easier access to their favorite treats. It is also located across the street from Bay College.
“There’s nothing in this area for students to do a quick grab-and-go, so it just worked out best for us,” said Gartland. “We could not do this without our employees. Also a big part of us opening a second location is the push from them, the best employees ever.”
Jo to Go offers a full menu of coffees, energy drinks, smoothies, protein shakes, bagels, muffins, and açai bowls. Both locations are open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
