MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Northern Michigan University has partnered with Miron Construction to bring a new scholarship opportunity to its Construction Management program.
The Miron Scholarship will support three full-time junior or senior students majoring in Construction Management over the next three academic years. With local help from Miron officials, the scholarship program will be able to witness firsthand the impacts it can bring to these students.
“The Construction Management program has grown over 65% in the last five years in enrollment, and we want to continue that,” said Executive Director of Business Engagement and Economic Development at NMU, David Nyberg. “Miron also sits on the industry advisory committee for the Construction Management program, so they continue to provide counsel and advice that way. It’s really a great example on the shared alignment of a common goal.”
Miron is headquartered in Neenah Wisconsin, with offices across the Midwest. The partnership also looks to attract more high school students from that area to Northern by creating a career event for college-bound students in the Green Bay area.
“We’re really excited that Miron was able to work with NMU to provide opportunities for students to learn about careers in Construction Management,” said Nyberg. “We know it’s a growing field in high demand, and students can achieve a really great career through Northern, maybe they’ll end up at Miron.”
Applications will open for the Miron Construction Scholarship in January.
