WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the White House. The official White House Christmas tree arrived Monday afternoon.
A couple of Clydesdale horses carried the more than 20-plus foot tall fir tree to the White House front porch. First Lady Melania Trump walked around the tree inspecting it and took some time to chat with the drivers of the cart.
This tree comes from Korson’s Tree Farms in central Michigan after it won the National Christmas Tree Association grand champion title. It’s the first time in 40 years a tree from Michigan will be the official White House Christmas tree. Winners of the NCTA’s national tree contest have provided the official White House Christmas tree since 1966.
