Sardarian, Bartoszkiewicz honored again
HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech hockey Huskies Stiven Sardarian and Owen Bartoszkiewicz have been named CCHA Players of the Week the conference announced on Monday.
Stiven Sardarian is the CCHA Forward of the Week after scoring three goals and adding an assist in the sweep of Northern Michigan. Sardarian scored the first and fourth goal for the Huskies on Friday in Houghton. He also assisted on Reid Andresen’s second-period goal. The senior forward scored Tech’s fourth goal on Saturday in Marquette. Sardarian leads the CCHA in points (15) and assists (12). He ranks second nationally in assists and ninth in points.
Owen Bartoszkiewicz is the CCHA Goaltender of the Week after a pair of wins over the Wildcats. The junior stopped 49-of-52 shots with a 1.51 goals-against average and .942 save percentage. He made 26 saves Friday in a 4-1 win and stopped 23 shots on Saturday in the 4-2 victory. For the season, Bartoszkiewicz is 7-2-0 with a 2.24 goals-against average and .918 save percentage.
Tech is 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the CCHA and hosts Bemidji State this weekend. The puck drops at 7:07 p.m. Friday and 6:07 p.m. on Saturday at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
