Michigan Tech announces 18 new hockey players

HOUGHTON, Mich. – Michigan Tech hockey and first-year Head Coach Bill Muckalt welcome 18 newcomers for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The group includes 10 forwards, seven defensemen, and a goaltender. Five incoming student-athletes have college playing experience and the freshmen come from the WHL (7), USHL (2), NAHL (2), OHL (1), and QMJHL (1).

The Huskies begin the season on October 3-4 against the Minnesota Gophers in Minneapolis before another non-conference trip to Alaska on Oct. 17-18. The home and CCHA opener is Oct. 24-25 against Ferris State at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena. Season tickets are now on sale with single game tickets available on Sept. 3.

TRANSFERS

Jack Anderson • Lindenwood University • St. Louis, Mo. • D • 6-6 • 222
Anderson has played 90 NCAA games for Lindenwood over the past three seasons. He has 25 collegiate points with four goals and 21 assists. He served as an alternate captain for the Lions during the 2024-25 season. He played 57 games for El Paso in the NAHL, tallying 37 points in 2021-22 before going to college. Anderson went to the 2025 Philadelphia Flyers NHL Development Camp.

Owen Bartoszkiewicz • Lindenwood University • Northville, Mich. • G • 6-2 • 200
Bartoszkiewicz has played 35 NCAA games in two seasons. At Lindenwood in 2024-25, he held a .919 save percentage and 2.57 goals-against average. He began as collegiate career at Minnesota in 2022-23, appearing in six games and going 3-0-0. He holds a career NCAA 2.71 career goals-against average and .915 save percentage with a pair of shutouts. Bartoszkiewicz went to the 2025 St. Louis Blues NHL Development Camp.

Luca Fasciano • Lakehead University • Toronto, Ont. • D • 6-4 • 225
Fasciano played 28 games for Lakehead last season, tallying 19 points with five goals and 14 assists. He was named to the USports All-Rookie Team. He played the 2023-24 season for Corpus Christi in the NAHL, appearing in 59 games and registering 17 points. Fasciano played three seasons in the OJHL for Markham and Toronto and had 64 points in 106 games.

Carson Latimer • University of British Columbia • White Rock, BC • F • 6-1 • 192
Latimer was a fourth round NHL Draft pick of the Ottawa Senators in 2021, getting picked 123rd overall. He skated in 28 games last season for the University of British Columbia, tallying 19 points with eight goals and 11 assists. Latimer played four seasons in the WHL with Red Deer, Winnipeg, Prince Albert, and Edmonton—a total of 178 games while tallying 122 points on 48 goals and 74 assists.

Joe Prouty • Lindenwood University • Apple Valley, Minn. • D • 6-0 • 200
Prouty has played 90 NCAA games in three seasons as a defenseman at Lindenwood. He has 21 collegiate points with three goals and 18 assists. He served as an alternate captain for the Lions and played two and a half seasons in the NAHL for New Mexico before going to college. Prouty skated in 132 games for the Ice Dogs with five goals and 29 assists.

FRESHMEN

Ryan Abraham • Windsor (OHL) • Livonia, Mich. • F • 5-8 • 170
Abraham has played the last four seasons for Windsor in the OHL, serving as an alternate captain over the past three seasons. He has played 223 games for the Spitfires and racked up 213 points with 84 goals and 129 assists. Abraham has tallied 66 points in the regular season in each of the past two seasons and had four goals and six assists in 12 playoff games in 2025.

Reid Andresen • Wenatchee (WHL) • Saskatoon, Sask. • D • 5-9 • 165
Andresen has played the last four and a half seasons in the WHL, skating in 274 games and tallying 137 points. He played the first three and a half seasons with Medicine Hat and the 2024-25 season with Wenatchee. He was an alternate captain with the Wild and tallied 51 points (seven goals, 44 assists) last season. He had 32 points in 67 games during the 2023-24 season and 35 points in 68 games in 2022-23.

Carson Birnie • Calgary (WHL) • Arcola, Sask. • F • 6-1 • 190
Birnie has played the last three seasons in the WHL, appearing in 183 games and tallying 67 points with 33 goals and 34 assists. He played his first two and half seasons for Red Deer and was an alternate captain before being traded to Calgary. During the 2024-25 season, Birnie had seven points in 33 games with Calgary and 19 points in 35 games with Red Deer.

Brayden Boehm • Victoria (WHL) • Nanaimo, BC • F • 5-11 • 190
Boehm has played the last five seasons in the WHL, skating in 215 games and tallying 120 points on 50 goals and 70 assists. He played over four seasons with Medicine Hat before being traded to Victoria. In the 2024-25 season, Boehm tallied 50 points (19 goals, 31 assists) in 61 regular season games and five points in 10 playoff games. He attended the 2024 Edmonton Oilers Rookie Camp.

Michael Cicek • Kelowna (WHL) • Winnipeg, Man. • F • 6-2 • 190
Cicek played the last four seasons in the WHL, appearing in 189 games for Kelowna for two seasons and Spokane for two seasons. As an alternate captain in 2024-25, he tallied 40 points (17 goals, 23 assists) for the Rockets. He played in 64 regular season games and 11 playoff games in his first season in Kelowna.

Reid Daavettila • Waterloo (USHL) • Howell, Mich. • F • 6-2 • 190
Daavettila played two seasons and 123 games in the USHL with 62 points. He won the 2024 USHL Clark Cup with Fargo, appearing in 62 games during the regular season and 12 in the playoff run. Daavettila was the captain of the Force to begin the 2024-25 season and had 31 points through 43 games before being traded to Waterloo where he skated in 16 games. He played the 2022-23 season with Minnesota in the NAHL.

Rylan Gould • Swift Current (WHL) • Headingley, Man. • F • 5-10 • 190
Gould played four seasons for Swift Current in the WHL, appearing in 258 games while tallying 151 points with 57 goals and 94 assists. He had 66 points in 60 games in 2024-25 and 68 points in 68 games during the 2023-24 season.

Max Matthews • New Mexico (NAHL) • Arlington Heights, Ill. • D • 6-1 • 190
Matthews played the last three seasons in the NAHL, skating in 157 games with 28 points. He was an alternate captain with New Mexico last season and had 17 points in 56 games. Matthews played for New Mexico, Danbury, and El Paso.

Kalem Parker • Calgary (WHL) • Clavet, Sask. • D • 6-0 • 187
Parker was picked by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft with the 181st selection. He has played in the WHL for the past four and a half seasons, appearing in 286 games and tallying 146 points on 24 goals and 122 assists. He has 28 points in 47 games during the 2024-25 season with Calgary. Parker started the season at Moose Jaw and was an alternate captain, skating in 82 games for the Warriors and winning the 2024 WHL Championship. He also played for Victoria from 2020-23. Parker played for Canada at the 2022 World Junior Championships.

Braden Pietila • Odessa (NAHL) • Howell, Mich. • D • 6-1 • 185
Pietila played the last two seasons and 118 games on the blue line for Odessa in the NAHL. He was an alternate captain in 2024-25 and skated in 59 games while tallying 34 points on five goals and 29 assists. Pietila registered 17 points in his first season in Odessa. He played four seasons of high school hockey at Hartland and is first cousins with Blake, Logan, and Chase.

Noah Reinhart • Val-d’Or (QMJHL) • Dundas, Ont. • F • 6-1 • 201
Reinhart has played the last three seasons in the QMJHL, appearing in 194 games and tallying 183 points with 84 goals and 99 assists. Last season for Val-d’Or Foreurs, he racked up 76 points with 40 goals and 36 assists. He began the season with Cape Breton and played the 2023-24 season with Saint John and Drummondville.

Teydon Trembecky • Victoria (WHL) • Strathcona, Alta. • F • 5-11 • 190
Trembecky played the last three seasons in the WHL, skating in 187 games and tallying 130 points on 68 goals and 62 assists. He racked up 88 points in 67 games last season for Victoria with 46 goals and 42 assists. He added 19 points in 11 playoff games. Trembecky played 163 games for Victoria over two and a half seasons and 24 games for Brandon over parts of two seasons. He also played for Whitecourt in the AJHL during the 2021-22 season. Trembecky attended the 2025 Winnipeg Jets NHL Development Camp.

Matthew Van Blaricom • Muskegon (USHL) • Southy, Sask. • F • 5-11 • 174
Van Blaricom played 60 games for Muskegon in the USHL last season. The Lumberjacks won the 2025 Clark Cup. Van Blaricom had 19 points in 60 games during the regular season and four points in 14 playoff games. He played two seasons in the SJHL for Humboldt, appearing in 80 games and tallying 93 points with 40 goals and 53 assists.
