MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – United Way of Marquette County has partnered with DoorDash to deliver food from local pantries to residents in need.
The free delivery system derives from the Project DASH Initiative and the Ride United Last Mile Delivery Program, which have both already made a significant impact, delivering over 100 million meals nationwide since 2018. Now, with the help of Huntington Bank and the Michigan Community Service Commission, this support is branching to the Marquette community.
“We know there’s a huge demand in the community,” said Andrew Rickauer, the executive director of United Way of Marquette County. “We just want people to know that the service is there.” United Way is connecting with pantries around the area to make sure this program will run as efficiently as possible.
