MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Wednesday, blizzard conditions made for excellent outdoor winter recreation. Skiers and snowboarders were happy with the conditions bringing plenty of powder for the hill.
“It’s been great,” said Kaet Johnson, the general manager of Marquette Mountain. Compared to last year, the hill has been able to open more runs this year.
“We’ve been fully open on all our snow making runs this season. We even have the whole east side open,” said Johnson. With snow days throughout the county, students braved the road conditions to come and enjoy their day off.
“Conditions are pretty perfect today, but the wind picks up a lot,” said a Marquette area high schooler. “This is definitely the most powder we’ve had all year.”
Marquette Mountain has been anticipating these snow conditions throughout their whole season.
