ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The results of the general election have been officially certified in Delta County.
Last week, the County Board of Canvassers met to resolve any issues that came up on Election Day. Although the election went well overall, Delta County Clerk Nancy Przewrocki says there were a few items to address
“We had one precinct that was retabulated because they had a power problem,” Przewrocki explained. “Other jurisdictions, they had some voters that weren’t entered into the poll book, so we had to go through the applications to vote and match it up with the list of names in the poll book. We had a military ballot come in, and we made sure that counted.”
On Tuesday morning, all four canvassers signed the certification papers.
The board fell under the scrutiny of state officials in May when a former member and alternate member refused to certify the County Board recall vote. This time around, Przewrocki says the election results were easily certified.
“This Board of Canvassers is very dedicated to looking at the results and the paperwork,” she said. “They worked as a team to do this, and everything went very smoothly. Here in Delta County, everybody’s vote did count.”
Now, the County Clerk’s Office can now move forward with election audits and any requested recounts.
