MARQUETTE, Mich (WZMQ) – The Peter White Public Library had its opening show for the annual Music on the Steps summer event. This event was held in the lower level of the library due to the weather however usually is held on the steps of the library.
The Music on the Steps event was started during the pandemic. It was a way for people to gather outside where it was safe, see people you may have not seen in a while, enjoy nature, and connect with the community. As the years have continued this event has grown to be an annual community-based event.
“Being able to get outside, get with some friends, see people you don’t see all the time, sit under the sun, and listen to some great music, clap and sing along. It’s just the best time in the world”, Martin Achatz, adult program coordinator, Peter White Public Library.
The music on the Steps season is from June 5th to August 27th. There are shows every Wednesday except the weeks of June 17th and July 15th those weeks the show will be on Monday.
For booking a performance slot create a program for next season on the Peter White Public Library website, or for any other questions.
