MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Beautification and Restoration Committee planted flowers and herbs to decorate the patio of the Beacon House, provide a nice fragrance for the guests, and even garnishes for the house’s cooks.
This is the committee’s third year of decorating for the Beacon House.
Beacon House CEO Mary Tavernini-Dowling said the flowers help make the Beacon House experience that much more special.
“To be surrounded by all this beauty and all these flowers, I think it just does something very magical for them,” said Tavernini-Dowling. “It changes you. it changes how you feel, it changes your chemistry, and maybe just bring you a little bit of peace.”
The Beautification Committee is also getting ready for its annual Petunia Pandemonium on Friday and Saturday on Front Street.
