MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) — WZMQ 19 will sponsor multiple, major local events as part of a new agreement with the Marquette Downtown Development Authority.
19 News is proud to be the new television sponsor of the Saturday Morning Farmers Market and the Wednesday Night Street Market.
The Saturday Morning Farmers Market, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, runs May through October. It is the largest market in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, bringing 3,000 shoppers to downtown Marquette each Saturday.
The Wednesday Night Market starts June 19 and continues through Aug. 28. It is a mid-week celebration which offering items from nearly 50 vendors. The event is held in front of the WZMQ 19 studios on Washington St.
WZMQ 19 will be the new television sponsor of the annual Blueberry Festival on Friday, July 26. More than 90 vendors are on hand to greet more than 7,000 patrons as the delightful sights of blueberry products are showcased along Washington and Front Streets.
The summer season wouldn’t be complete without the beat of Music on Third Street. Every third Thursday from June through September features local bands and musicians at venues along Third St. Restaurants and other shops are open for business during the free celebration of music.
Members of WZMQ 19 News will be at the DDA events to meet and say hello and provide news coverage.

State Fair, Meijer State Games of Michigan and the Ice Fishing and Hunting Expo.
