The Saturday Morning Farmers Market, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary, runs May through October. It is the largest market in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, bringing 3,000 shoppers to downtown Marquette each Saturday.

The Wednesday Night Market starts June 19 and continues through Aug. 28. It is a mid-week celebration which offering items from nearly 50 vendors. The event is held in front of the WZMQ 19 studios on Washington St.

WZMQ 19 will be the new television sponsor of the annual Blueberry Festival on Friday, July 26. More than 90 vendors are on hand to greet more than 7,000 patrons as the delightful sights of blueberry products are showcased along Washington and Front Streets.

The summer season wouldn’t be complete without the beat of Music on Third Street. Every third Thursday from June through September features local bands and musicians at venues along Third St. Restaurants and other shops are open for business during the free celebration of music.

Members of WZMQ 19 News will be at the DDA events to meet and say hello and provide news coverage.

“The summer season is easily one of the most important times for our district where both the community and tourists alike flock to Downtown Marquette to enjoy all that it has to offer,” said Michael Bradford, business outreach and promotions director of Marquette Downtown Development Authority. “As we look ahead and continue planning to make it the best summer yet, it is exciting to have the support and to partner with local businesses like WZMQ 19 who will help spread the word and support us in our mission to make downtown Marquette a wonderful place to live, work and play!”
