MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – An annual opportunity to donate food is coming this weekend and it couldn’t be closer to your front door. This Saturday, May 11th, ‘Stamp Out Hunger’ is asking for all non-perishable items to be set out for the US Postal Service to collect.
This annual food drive hosted by the National Letter Carriers Association has been running for now 32 years, with the same goal, fill up the storage at local food pantries and end hunger.
“It’s a great opportunity to bring our resources together like really pool these employees like you said who are going door to door already and can easily grab something along the way and we really appreciate their assistance cause it is a lot of food to pick up which we are very grateful for,” commented United Way of Marquette County Program Coordinator Holly Michelin.
