Ishpeming residents have a chance next week to learn more about the planning commission’s proposed changes to the city’s marijuana ordinance.
Ishpeming mayor Jason Chapman and city council member Renelle Halverson hosted a coffee hour on the topic today.
Chapman says the current ordinance allows for two retail cannabis licenses. The proposed changes could include allowing growers and dispensaries.
Chapman says nothing is set in stone at this point, and he’s hoping residents will share their thoughts.
The planning commission’s next meeting is Monday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the city hall council chambers.
