MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Happy National Pie Day, this year brings a new tasty treat to the area. Peace Pie Company’s shop held a ribbon cutting ceremony today, marking it’s home in Marquette.
Celebrating over a year of preparation, the bakers had pies rolling out the door for their opening (sold out within the day). Owners Lorri and Patty both share a love for food, and they said the ignition for this company wasn’t just the food, but the people that enjoy sharing it with others.
“Most of our conversations revolve around foods or ‘oh I tried a new recipe’ or ‘lets try this’…, I knew we were going to get slammed today and we were prepared although we have run out of some of the pies already so there’s been favorites,” said Owners Patty Barton and Lorri Smith.
Peace Pie also plans to add new items to the menu soon, with Keesh flavors, scones, and more bakery items for the people to enjoy.
