MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Marquette Mountain and Mont Ripley Ski Resorts are planning to stay open as long as the weather allows this year.
Late last week into the weekend around the U.P. announced they would be closing for the season due to a lack of snow.
With the unusually warm temperatures and lack of snowfall resorts say conditions are unsafe for riders. According to Marquette Mountain, even with the challenges this winter brought, it was still a successful season.
“All the talk about there being no winter really affected visits, even though we had great conditions, other resorts had great conditions, it really just drove visits down,” remarked Kaet Johnson, the Marquette Mountain General Manager.
