MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – This time of year, a lot of people start to focus on their health and fitness.
The YMCA says it sees a burst of newcomers in the wellness center and group work-out classes in January, but many people fall away over a couple of months.
Personal Trainer Brett Conklin said setting smaller goals can help people stick to a routine.
“Start with small goals that are going to end up in that large goal or changing your health behavior over a period of time,” said Conklin. “I think if people pick up on those small goals over time, then they can change their behaviors and then that changes their overall life and overall health.”
And even if health and wellness wasn’t your new years resolutions, the YMCA says it’s always a good time to focus on your health journey.
