MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Northern Michigan University basketball program is heading back to the Berry Events Center.
The men and womens teams have been playing games in their practice arena for 2 months due to damaged floorboards in the court placed over the ice in the Berry. The college finished repairs on the court system earlier this week and it is ready for play.
According to wildcat coaches, being back in a larger arena is a major advantage for the team’s.
“The last time we were in here was the tournament game, where I did think the crowd made the difference in winning and losing it, so I am definitely excited to be back in here and I think the guys are too,” said NMU men’s basketball coach Matt Majkrzak.
The men’s team takes on Rippon college Saturday 12/30 at 3pm.
