MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: Marquette Area Public Schools Superintendent Zack Sedgwick released a statement regarding the embezzlement investigation at Marquette Senior High School:
On 12/19/2023, our central office administrative team notified the Marquette Police Department of a possible embezzlement incident that had occurred at Marquette Senior High School. The police promptly initiated an investigation, which is ongoing. A suspect has been identified but has not yet been charged. Our administrative team has taken action to assure no further damage may occur. We appreciate the trust our community places in us and will continue providing our full support to the Marquette Police Department as they investigate this incident. According to the Marquette City Police department, on Dec.19th administrative staff from Marquette Area Public Schools notified authorities of a possible embezzlement incident that had occurred at the Marquette Senior High School.
An investigation was initiated and is ongoing. A suspect has been identified but has not yet been charged.
