ISHPEMING, Mich, (WZMQ) – On Thursday Great Lakes Recovery Center (GLRC) held a job fair to fill its almost 20 open positions.
Members of each of GLRC’s departments were there interviewing potential job candidates.
With so many positions to fill, they decided to take a less conventional approach to find staff members they need.
Instead of applying for a specific position, candidates attended the fair, and GLRC would help find them positions they were most suited for.
“This will allow us in all our different programs that we run to be able to find the right suit for that person,” said GLRC Children’s Service Director Derrick DePetro, “so someone may not necessarily have all the qualifications for one position, but they might be well qualified and have great skills to be in another position.”
Organizers said they hope to have another job fair in the spring.
